No Sew: Baby Bow-tie Tutorial

Making baby boy bow-ties has been on my list of things to do for awhile now.. and I would have done it sooner if I would have known HOW EASY they are to make. Honestly people. 10 minutes. Bow-tie done..yes finished. complete. Pat yourself on the back. Who doesn't like projects like that? Then on top of that, no sewing required. Just you and your trusty ol' glue gun. Alright, ready for the break-down?

Supplies Needed:

About 10 inches of fabric (this in my mind is the best way to use up your scrap pieces you have laying around!)

Scissors

Hot Glue Gun/Glue

Ruler

Instructions:

These instructions are intended for a toddler sized little boy. For a little bit older boy I would add an inch to the larger piece of fabric and 1/4 inch to the smaller. For a newborn-baby I would subtract an inch off the larger piece and you can keep the smaller piece the same.

Step One: Cut one piece of your fabric 5x7 inches, your second piece cut 2.25x2.25 inches.

Step Two: Flip your fabric over so your good side is flat down on the table. Then begin to fold it in thirds.

Step Three: Complete folding into thirds.

Step Four: Now take each side and fold into the middle.

Step Five: First apologize for the change in fabric I forgot to take a picture the first time. Woops! Ok, in this step you are going to place your first dab of glue right in the middle of where you brought the two sides together and then pinch your entire bow longways while the glue dries.

Step Six: Here is the only tricky step. Flip your bow over and fold the top and bottom edges in the opposite direction of the fold in Step 5. Glue in place.

This is what your bow should look like when it is dried. Now take your small piece of fabric and fold it in thirds and wrap around the center and glue in the back. If there is extra just trim it off to how you please, and you are done! How easy peasy was that my friends? Now go make a million like I did :)

Best thing about these bows is you can really make them for a boy or a girl. Boy attach a clip to attach on to their shirt or a snap. Girl attach to hair clip or headband. Walah!
